I got Juvederm Vollure injected in my lips 8 days ago . during the injections my upper left lip developed a bad bruise and so the Dr stopped and told me to come back in 2 wks to finish. I swelled and bruised badly, and I just noticed that now just above my lip I have a hard lump,it looks weird when I smile!I'm freaking out, I have a wedding to attend soon, should I ask for a different injector, should I ask to dissolve it and be refunded?should I wait longer?
Answer: Filler Moving Outside of Lip? Hi and thank you for your question! I am sorry to hear about your concerns, but your injector is correct in asking you to wait for 2 weeks and then going back for a follow up. It is very unlikely for the filler to migrate and the lump you have is most likely just swelling following the filler injection and once the swelling and bruising is gone, you and your doctor would be able to make an accurate assessment and decide on the next step. I know it can be easier said than done, specially with the wedding coming up, but at this time, rushing might result in things getting worse, so please hang in there and do the follow up with your doctor and hopefully all will be ok! I hope it helps and good luck!

Answer: Did my filler migrate outside of my upper lip border? Since you're only 2 weeks out from the injection, I would suggest you wait and see if some of the fullness in the upper lip resolves. If you get to 2 to 3 weeks and it truly is in the white lip, then speak with your injector about dissolving the filler in that location.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

Answer: Did my filler migrate? Dear Believinforbetter14,Thank you for your question and photos. I am sorry you are having some difficulties with your filler. My recommendation is to wait until the full two weeks have passed to see if the swelling goes away. Swelling is normal up to two weeks and will gradually decrease with time. If after two weeks, there is still swelling, I would recommend having the filler dissolved. Best regards,Nima Shemirani

Answer: Did my filler migrate outside of my upper lip border? Thank you for sharing your questions and photographs and I am sorry that your current results have not been what you anticipated. Without feeling your upper lip it is difficult to know if the lump is due to residual swelling from the filler and injections or if it is inappropriate filler placement. If the area has been improving over the last 8 days, most likely it is swelling. Allow your results to mature for at least 14 days and then reassess. If the lump remains have your injector dissolve the filler. Best wishes.

Answer: Juvederm Judging by the provided pictures you have a classic case of a misplaced filler or incorrect injection above the vermillion border. If left unattended this could persist for over 6 months. Hence, a logical solution would be to dissolve the filler and have them redone. Please contact a qualified provider or a board-certified physician with extensive experience in these procedures.
