Cost to respect depressor septi muscle?

When I smile my tip drops really badly. It's clearly. Multitude of issues but I do want to release the muscle to see if it helps? If done properly is it relatively safe and without bizarre complications? Any advice is appreciated

Filler will not make your columella or tip more symmetric.

Resecting the caudal septum will not elevate your tip.

Resecting the depressor septi muscle will not shorten your nose.

If you have issues after your primary surgery, particularly if the issues include a tip that you would like to see higher, making the nose shorter, there's no way to correct it without a revision. It can be done closed or open (I ***much*** prefer open myself), but not under local-only anesthesia.

Hello and thank you for your question. I would not recommend releasing the depressor nasi septi muscle as an isolated procedure. This will not help at all. The much more important aspect is to appropriately stabilize the tip. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
