Your mistake was choosing the wrong surgeon but I assure you, choosing the right surgeon is very challenging. It is probable that your eyelids can be revised. Generally massage does not accomplish very much other than giving the surgeon the opportunity to blame the patient for the result-"You did not massage enough." I mostly find that massage is not very effective.
Thanks for the question. From that photo, I don’t see any glaring issues, but it’s usually possible to revise an eyelid. It’s best to wait at least 6 months (if not a full year) to allow the healing process to finish before any additional revisions are done.
