Large white bump post blepharoplasty (Photo)

Question

10 months ago, I had an upper blepharoplasty (bilateral). Overtime I have developed a white bump on my left innerupper eyelid. It is hard and white. It is very large. The surgeon I used has retired. What do I do?

You have an inclusion cyst along the incision line. This can easily be removed in the office. Best to see an eyelid expert.

At least from the photo provided (and there is no substitute for an in-person examination that allows for close inspection and for manipulation and palpation of the the tissue), it would appear to be a small sebaceous inclusion cyst, likely related to tissue being entrapped in the surgical suture line. If so, it is no big deal, and a routine, simple treatment in the hands of an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist. After using a tiny bit of local anesthetic to numb the site, the top of the cyst can be nicked and the contents expressed and voila it's gone. I just did this for my doorman last week who developed one under his left eye from rubbing. Took all of five minutes. So, not to worry. Just make sure to consult with an experienced board certified cosmetic dermatologist and be very cautious if anyone suggests needing to excise it and close with stitches instead of the simple procedure described above  Hope this helps and best of luck.
