About 4 days ago I had a mole on the bottom of my foot removed. I was instructed by my doctor to wash my foot about 3 times a day and apply an antibacterial cream and cover it with a band-aid. I have been consistent with that for the most part, changing my band-aids and applying Mupirocin. On day three I woke up with foot pain and had difficulty walking when I could walk fine before. I am worried that I may be infected and that is where the pain is coming from. I have attached photos of day 3.

Thanks for the question. At 6 months, I don't think that significant additional flattening of the scar ends will occur, especially on young skin. I agree that these dog ears should be excised and the scar slightly lengthened for a more natural contour. Combing surgery with laser resurfacing...
Thank you for your question and I am sorry to hear of your symptoms. This is not a normal recovery from a mole removal and I would recommend you reach out to your surgeon for an in-person evaluation. Once the cause of your spreading pain can be determined, the best treatment option...
If this mole is right in the middle of the brow it needs to be excised and surgically repaired so the hair is connected. If lasered shaved or removed without brining the skin together there likely will be no hair later and you would need a transpalnt. Best, Dr. Emer.
