Would CoolSculpting work on area with lipohypertrophy?

Question

I have type 1 diabetes and have had lipohypertrophy above my navel for years. I have not injected in that area in at least 8 years now, but they lumps have not gone away. Would Coolsculpting work on an area of fat like this? It is very uneven (left side bigger than right) and I’m trying to find a way to get rid of it.

Dear kaporter, You would need an assessment from a great and honest provider bc it does depend on how you present and how it feels. I believe however you would most likely not be happy with the CS results and most likely would need a surgical intervention. Best of Luck!

The area of concern above your navel would really need to be examined to determine if you might be a good candidate for CoolSculpting or not.  Lipohypertrophy of the abdomen can develop deeper in the visceral fat, which is not treatable with CoolSculpting.  If there is some superficial fat on your abdomen, this possibly could be treated.  The exam would also be important to try and ascertain if the lumps you see are fat or something else.
