Hello. I am 23 years old and had a tummy tuck back in October 2019 due to childbirth. After my tummy tuck I weighed in at about 155 pounds and since then I have gained about 20 to 25 pounds. I’m almost back to 160 pounds now and I feel like my skin is a little bit looser and I’m worried that I might have to go in for a revision due to my skin laxity being little to none. Will exercise help me achieve my original tummy tuck results or will I need revision surgery? Thank you for all feedback.

Answer: Tummy tuck abdominoplasty horizontal tummy tuck lower body lift mommy makeover extended tummy tuck stomach lipo liposuction Thank you for your question regarding if you messed up your tummy tuck. Although you are gaining weight, it is not too late to revert your body back to your original tummy tuck results. You have not gained a significant amount of weight yet. It’s important that you begin to diet and exercise, cutting out all carbs, sugars, and alcohol. You do not want your tummy tuck cost and pain to go to waste. You still have a shapely figure and not a lot of excess skin. You can consider liposuction if diet and exercise do not help you lose weight. However, please try to exercise and see what you can do first. If you have any more questions regarding a tummy tuck, lower body lift, 360 circumferential lower body lift, belt lipectomy, belt abdominoplasty, or belt dermolipectomy please contact my office. Since the body lift is a big procedure, please seek an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon with significant experience performing the lower body lift. Do your research. Make sure they have performed at least 100 tummy tuck or circumferential lower body lift surgeries and have the before and after pictures to prove it. Carefully examine their before and after pictures and check their reviews on RealSelf. If you cannot find an experienced, tummy tuck or lower body lift surgeon in your neighborhood, consider traveling out of state if you must. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen.
