I’m a 38yo mother of twins and a Singleton. Had my first c-section with the birth of my twins 3 years ago. During recovery, I developed what my doctor told me was an incision infection AND a hematoma between layers of stitching internally. the C-section stitches themselves remained in tact and looked very healthy, but my body began expelling blood / fluids? Etc above the incision through my skin. It took me an extra 2-3 weeks to heal compared to a typical c-section. Even though it has been 3 years, the area is still very sensitive, I feel disconnected from my deep lower abdomen, and it continues to be a source of pain / sadness / discomfort both physically and emotionally. I have consulted my OBGYN, PCP, and dermatologist on possible non invasive remedy but to no avail. I have accepted my stretch marks, less than perky breasts, incoming gray hair, but for whatever reason I just feel like I can’t live with this area the way it is. I am considering a revision surgery which I’m not sure if this is considered a tummy tuck? My biggest concern is, do I run the risk of a similar bodily reaction? Is what happened originally a culmination of known risks in that area (Lack of blood flow to the area / wound spitting / hematoma)?? Or was that unique to c-section, and my chances of healing nicely with TT / revision surgery decent? I just wouldn’t want to put my body through it if the risk of similar outcome is present/high enough. Thank you for your input!
