Does alar base reduction affect profile?

Alar base reductions can be done without changing the profile. In order to make the nose smaller I would need to see photographs of your nose to determine whether your goals are achievable.    

Depending upon technique and amount of width reduction a subtle projecting of the tip may occur. You can test this yourself in the mirror.

 Alar base reductions only narrow the nostrils from the frontal view. There is no change from the side profile view.
