Does alar base reduction affect profile?

Could you please recommend what to do for wide nose/large nostrils? I really like the profile of my nose and do not want that changed at all but I would like my nostrils and base to be smaller. Can alar base reductions be done alone and does it completely change the shape? What procedures are recommended to make noses smaller?

It is far too early to judge results, and the swelling/stiffness of the upper lip is expected for the first few weeks after rhinoplasty.  Relay your concerns to your surgeon who will be able to provide a timeline of healing and reassure your progress.  Best wishes!

In this type of nose structure an alar cinch to narrow the nostrils. There is also a possibility of a weir excision along with the alar cinch. However a consultation with a surgeon is required to examine the tissues.
