Upper lip is longer, numb and cannot move after tip plasty and alarplasty. Any suggestions?

It is far too early to judge results, and the swelling/stiffness of the upper lip is expected for the first few weeks after rhinoplasty.  Relay your concerns to your surgeon who will be able to provide a timeline of healing and reassure your progress.  Best wishes!

Thanks for your question. I'm happy your nose is doing well. You are having difficulty with your lip because your surgeon probably divided the depressor septi nasi muscle. It's a tiny muscle that in some people either pulls the nose down when you smile or pulls the upper lip up at the same time. This happens a lot in rhinoplasty surgery, but surprisingly few patients actually notice and mention it- only one comes to mind in my practice. It should definitely improve with time. Enjoy your nose!

Thanks for the enquiry.Only your surgeon will know what he/she did during your surgery.Having said that 10 days is still very early days.If your surgeon released the depressor septi muscle this could explain the symptoms you have.It usually resolves.I hope this helps and good luck.
