Dear maileen83, Thank you for your clinical post and photographs. The ideal nasofacial balance and proportion that best suits your face and your aesthetic goals can only be determined during a consultation. Augmentation of the nasal bridge, refinement of a slightly bulbous tip and modest reduction of the alar base may all be options that you might consider in adjusting your nasofacial balance and proportion. I have been performing cosmetic rhinoplasty for over 20 years and was fortunate to train in both plastic surgery and ear, nose, throat, head and neck oncology. I deploy computer imaging and simulated surgery to show patients the kind of improvements that different rhinoplasty techniques such as alarplasty or tip plasty can provide. It is from this computer imaging that patients get a good sense of what kinds of outcomes can be achieved and what they find most pleasing. I would recommend you seek three experienced nose surgeons and gather information during your consultation before deciding whether or not to proceed with any kind of rhinoplasty procedure. You can also consider a simple injection rhinoplasty or 5 minute nose job that can give you a nice one year improvement and you can see if bridge augmentation adjustment of the nasal tip provide the kind of aesthetic results you’re looking for and, of course, the results are reversible and go away if, in fact, you don’t find the changes aesthetically pleasing. I hope this information has been of some assistance and best of luck. For more information, please review the link below. R. Stephen Mulholland, M.D. Certified Plastic Surgeon Yorkville, Toronto
