5 weeks post tummy tuck, and having excruciating stabbing, burning pain in my pubic area, on the right side below my incision. The incision looks fine, swelling isn't any worse than it has been, and to look at it, nothing is out of the ordinary. But this pain will come out of nowhere and literally take my breath away. Nurse at my doc's office says it's normal nerve regeneration and function, but OMG it hurts so bad!! Has anyone else had this, and is there anything that makes it better?

Answer: Right groin pain after Tummy tuck. There are three possibilities that come to mind. The first is a nerve that could be captured within a stitch. I would expect that to be a constant pain though, not intermittent. That would also be significantly worse with motion. The second possibility is ongoing pain from where your muscle tissue was repaired down the midline can have residual pain like this, but I would've expected that since the surgery and this problem sounds new. The third possibility is a small area of dead or necrotic fat which does resultin exquisite tenderness and usually resolves with time. Your doctor is the best person to answer this question and I believe you need a physical examination and not just a discussion with the nurse .
