Thank you for your question. There is a possibility to develop a nosebleed after Rhinoplasty surgery, which brings more urgency to preventing your blood pressure from increasing and increasing the possibility of developing a nosebleed. You should utilize ice packs and washcloths soaked in water during the first 2 days after surgery, although, you should always follow your surgeon's advice as closely as possible. Always consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon. Best wishes,
Hello. It is totally normal to bleed from a nose up to 1 week after a rhinoplasty. Please take your concerns to your surgeon as he/she is the best person to deal with these issues. Good luck.
Hi, and thank you for this question. As other specialists have already said, some oozing that includes blood is expected during the first several days after a rhinoplasty procedure. The volume and nature of the fluid coming from the nose is important to know before saying whether it's "normal" or not. I encourage my patients to contact my office with any questions or concerns about their recovery — and if the bleeding continues or increases in volume, please do the same with yours. Surgeons all have their own postoperative instructions, and patients should rely on those, as well.
Thank you for your question.Oozing from the nose for up to 3 days is normal. If you have profound bleeding, then you should be speaking to your surgeon.Kind regards
It is important to define what true "bleeding" is after rhinoplasty. Bright red blood that is constantly dripping from your nose is not normal 18 hours after your surgery. If that is the case, call your surgeon and have him/her examine you.Bleeding is different from what I consider "oozing." This is a pink, watery mix of a small amount of blood and nasal secretions that annoying drip intermittently from your nose. This is completely normal after a rhinoplasty and can last 2-3 days, on average. To deal with slow oozing, I recommend keeping a small gauze pad under your nose while at home (tape or a sling around your ears to hold the gauze in place works well). This helps catch the ooze and avoids the need to constantly dab the area. Remember to avoid blowing your nose.If you are not sure whether you have true bleeding or a more common pink, watery ooze from your nose, it is a good idea to call your surgeon and ask. Close follow up is the best thing to address any potential concerns.Best of luck in your recovery.

Thank you for your question. Yes, the nose will look slightly wider if the bump is removed. Oftentimes, we do use osteotomies to broom the bones back so that it does not look wider. The fracturing of the bones sometimes is necessary to close an open roof deformity which may cause an inverted V...
Wide, flaring nostrils can be improved by doing alar wedge excisions. This involves an external scar but this usually heals well.
