I have gone through a closed rhinoplasty 3 months ago , everything looked fine one week post op , however now i notice a bump on the left side of my nose , im sure its not swelling as it feels like bone and i have already had a bump in the same place before op . I want to fix it but im not sure if i need a revision rhino or it can be rasped under local anesthesia or a simple filler injection ?

Answer: Can the bump on my nose be corrected through filler or should I consider a revision? Excellent question! Fillers do not correct bumps…. They can only disguise them. Fillers may be an option for some patients but in your case I believe a revision is best. That said, you should wait at least a year before a revision. I know you’re sure it's bone and it probably is, but it is best to wait until everything has healed before assessing if anything else needs revision. More importantly, we run the chance of ruining the healing process of some other parts of the nose if we work on that part too soon. I recommend a surgical revision, no matter how simple it may be, but only after the entire nose has healed. Best if luck, Dr Miguel Mota

Answer: Bump after rhinoplasty It is best to discuss this issue with your surgeon. This is very likely a small bone lump, a combination of bone dust and scar. Removal is usually achieved by rasping, this can be done in local anesthesia. Hope this helps.
