Re-piercing can be done 3 to 6 weeks aftersurgery. Swelling is usually significant in the first several weeks and somecan persist for a few months but this is not as common.Piercing holes frequently closeup on their own
In general, if a piercing is removed immediately, the whole will close completely. If one is planning on re-piercing several millimeters or more away, one may re-pierce immediately. If one is planning on re-piercing immediately adjacent to the first piercing, it may be wise to wait six weeks to allow the first piercing to heal.
This hole is very small it will close very quickly and you can get it repierced when the first one is completely healed.
There's a very good chance that this will heal well. Keep the piercing moist and clean. You should let this heal for several months and then the ear can be re-pierced. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
Hi & thank you for your question.Because you took the earring out immediately the hole should close on it's own. Once this heals it is fine to have the ear re-pierced .Hope this helps
Yes, the hold will close fairly quickly and completely since it is new. It can be re-pierced after 6 weeks .
I just noticed your question was form two months ago. It has already healed and you are ignoring it....right??
If you took it out immediately then it should heal without any problems. I would wait at least 2-3 months before re-piercing.Good luck!
Thank you for your question. In general if the stud was removed immediately the hole should close up very quickly. I recommend waiting 6-8 weeks for re-piercing and to have it down by your physician with topical anesthesia and a piercing needle rather than a piercing gun. Piercing with a needle is much more precise, safer and more sterile procedure than piercing with a cartridge gun that cannot be autoclaved. As well it is less traumatic to the chid since there is no popping sound made by a gun firing. Regards, Dr. Matt Elias
Hello kezoe,Most of these piercings will heal on their own and fairly quickly. I would watch for signs of infection and keep the wound clean. I would wait for the first one to heal completely before piercing in a new location. I would recommend you ask the person who will pierce your child about how long they prefer to wait. I hope this helps and good luck.
Earlobe repair is a common procedure in our plastic surgery office. I employ a technique that involves removing the excess scar tissue and reapproximating the tissue planes in multiple layers to recontour the earlobe after gauges, torn earlobes, or stretched out earlobes. Sometimes, the same...
Once a tear develops in the earlobe, it can heal itself if it’s small and hasn’t torn through the lobe. However, larger tears may require surgery. It’s probably best to wait to see if the tear heals on it’s own - give it a few months before you consider surgery.
