Ultherapy is safe in patients with hip and knee replacement and metal hardware in place. We have not seen any issue with increased edema or discomfort. I often inject fillers and perform laser surgery at the same time. In that case I add an oral antibiotic to reduce the risk of infection if there is metal hardware in the hip. I hope this was helpful.
As others have already mentioned, undergoing anUltherapy skin tightening treatment on your neck is fine after having hipreplacement surgery. Ultherapy is a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure thatdoesn't pose a risk of infection. It involves little to no downtime and is aneffective alternative to a neck lift or facelift for the right patients. Yourfirst step should be to find a board-certified plastic surgeon and schedule aconsultation, during which the surgeon can determine whether you are a goodcandidate for Ultherapy. Good luck.
Ultherapy is a safe and non invasive treatment for facial and neck tightening. It would be safe to do after a hip replacement. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
It is safe to have Ultherapy on your face or neck after a total hip replacement. However, I would make sure you have fully healed from your hip replacement before your Ultherapy treatment. For optimal results, you want to ensure your body can focus its resources on neocollagensis (collagen production) from the Ultherapy treatment versus healing post hip replacement surgery. Contraindications to Ultherapy are open wounds or lesions, severe cystic acne in the treatment area, or implanted active devices like pacemakers or defibrillators near the targeted area.In order to maximize the positive inflammatory response created by Ultherapy avoid the use of anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, naproxen and Celebrex for 1 month following the procedure. This inflammatory response is necessary to allow your body to stimulate collagen fiber formation and modeling. To maintain and maximize the results, I recommend a prescription strength skin care regimen. Medical grade skin care products stimulate collagen production from the outside- in, which typically potentiate the effects of your Ultherapy treatment.Good Luck!
As there is no invasive component to Ultherapy, nor risk of infection, there is no contraindication to performing Ultherapy facial or neck tightening after hip replacement surgery. The information provided in Dr. Shelton'sanswer is for educational purposes only and is not intendedto constitute medical advice. Ultherapy in our practice is done by the doc or a physician assistant.I can tell you that based on my additional certifications in ultrasound (RVT, RPVI ad RPhS), I would prefer that whoever is doing the procedure on me understand ultrasound physics and safety in ultrasound. Read my ebook...
Thank you for your question. You can combine these procedures in the same setting but I would do the Ultherapy first. We use a lot of advanced techniques with Ulthera and combining this with the Vampire facelift or other surface microchanneling procedures is a great combination. We...
