I am not sure whether I want to get a tubal ligation surgery due early menopausal concerns. However, if I get the full tummy tuck first, My concern is the gas that is entered in the stomach during a tubal ligation will stretch out the abdominal muscles and or skin which could ruin a tummy tuck result? Or could it cause the stomach to protrude, look bloated and/or look out of shape?

Answer: Laparoscopic Surgery vs. Tummy Tuck Thank you for your question. I would recommend taking care of any other health concerns prior to moving forward with your tummy tuck. As long as everything has healed from your tummy tuck, you should not have anything to worry about as far as the muscles "re-stretching", however I can understand your concern. One thing to keep in mind when making your decision are scars left behind from the laparoscopic tubal ligation. The trocar's will leave small port scars in areas that might be excised during your tummy tuck which will be a benefit of waiting. I always advise my patients to take care of any health concerns prior to moving forward with cosmetic surgery but overall having a tubal ligation prior to a tummy tuck will not alter your results, just add scars.
