Hi, I am a healthy 63 year old female that is looking into replacing my breast implants with new ones, and doing a lift. Would it be dangerous for me to also do a tummy tuck at the same time? How difficult would recovery be? I’d rather get them both done at once but I haven’t seen anyone my age do a Mommy Makeover! Thank you for your guidance!
Answer: Surgery risk depends more on health than age If you are healthy then go for it, as long as your surgeon feels they can do it in under 5-6 hours. The combination of breast surgery and tummy tuck in one operation is done all the time.

Answer: Mommy makeover at 63 Fortunately 63 is considered young these days! When undergoing any surgery we will want to make sure that you are in good health. Disclosing all of your medical history and current medications is very important as well. Your surgeon will have you get medically cleared if not by him then by your primary care physician before undergoing any operation. You should be fine as long as all of those things line up. Once you become closer to 70 an invasive operation such as this does become more questionable. If you are thinking about possibly wanting surgery I would start looking into it, better late than never.

Answer: Mommy Makeover at 63 years old Thanks for your question. If you are healthy, you would need to be cleared for surgery by your physician. I would recommend having a proper consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Hope this helps. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take care, Dr. Moises Salama, board certified plastic surgeon.

Answer: Mommy Makeover As long as you are relatively healthy, (labs would be done), there should be no reason you can’t have your breast implants removed and replaced along with an Abdominoplasty. Recovery is not terrible, I recommend my patients have 2 weeks off to relax and heal. We would love to see you here at Smith Plastic Surgery for a consultation.

Answer: Mommy Makeover "Thank you for your question. Many healthy individuals in their 60s, and even older, successfully undergo combined surgeries like the Mommy Makeover. If you are in good health, with no significant medical conditions and have a good level of fitness, you could be a candidate for combined procedures. Having both surgeries simultaneously offers the benefit of a single recovery period, which many patients find convenient. The recovery can be more challenging than either procedure done individually due to the combined effects on the body, but with proper preparation and post-operative care, it's manageable for most patients. It's imperative to have a thorough evaluation by a board-certified plastic surgeon and possibly even a clearance from your primary care physician to ensure you're in optimal health for the surgery. They can provide guidance tailored to your unique medical history and needs."

Answer: Health vs Age Youe health is more important than your age. While at 63 you have higher risk factors for certain complications, it is your overall health that would drive my decision. If you had no medical issues, were not very overweight, and the procedures were average in complexity, it is certainly possible to combine them. See your Plastic Surgeon.
