Help, 390cc saline 3 years ago & breasts are not symmetrical (Photos)

Hi. Although it usually requires an in-person exam, I pretty sure your asymmetry is due to capsular contracture. After 3 years, it is unlikely that massage will help this. If it really bothers you, you will need to discuss surgery with your doctor to remove the capsule. Unfortunately, this doesn't always work to fix asymmetry, but hopefully it will be much better for you. Best of luck!

I would be curious as to a couple things in your case. You mentioned you had asymmetry preop--I would be curious what your breasts looked like before, as this probably has something to do with your existing asymmetry. Secondly, is this what they always looked like after surgery, or did your breasts look more symmetric before becoming like this? Thirdly, is the right breast firmer than the left? My inclination based on your photos and the information provided is that this is capsular contracture in conjunction with an existing asymmetry--if so, I would try medical management initially, but ultimately this would likely need surgical revision.

You may benefit from a lift on the more ptotic side to correct this asymmetry. Sometimes a simple Benelli lift under local anesthesia can be enough if need only 2-3 cm lift.

Capsular contracture may distort breast implants with asymmetry. Massaging may help to prevent and minimize capsular contracture. There are vitamins and prescription medications that help with capsular contracture in some patient. Also there are external devices with LED and ultrasound that some patients get relief. Often patients benefit from breast implant revisional surgery.

I understand your concern. Based on your photos and description, there is a chance that you have capsular contracture. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

You appear to have developed a capsule. I would try external ultrasound treatments and oral Accolate plus your massages for improvement.

Your right breast has a waterfall deformity. This may be due to a capsular contracture shifting your implant higher, or the continued effects of 3 years of gravity and aging on a breast that may have benefitted from a breast lift initially, or a combination of both. Your pre-operative photos, records, and an examination would help to determine which of those possibilities is most likely. Continue to follow up with your surgeon for guidance. You might end up needing a breast lift on that side. Good luck!

Without physically, examining you. It is hard to say whether this is a grade 2 capsule or whether this is just a high riding implant. If it has been present for three years in my opinion, in all likelihood, it will not “drop“ and the treatment that I would recommend if you were my patient would be correction of the capsule if there is one, or the lowering of the implant if this is what’s necessary. it is also quite possible that your minor asymmetry is accentuated by the implant and you may need a minor lift on the right side, but not having your preoperative photos. This is difficult to determine. If you’re not comfortable with your original surgeons recommendations, then make an appointment for a second opinion , or ask your surgeon what his plan would be if this is how it looks after four weeks.
