Hello. I had a breast augmentation procedure 3 years ago. I had a bilateral saline breast augmentation. I have 390 cc saline implants in both breast. I had very minor asymmetry before surgery. Now my right breast is cylinder shaped pointing down. I finally made it to an appointment with my doctor today, as I’ve had to put it off due to loss in my family etc.He advised first daily massages for 4 weeks before anything else. I didn’t want to wait too much longer, this makes me so insecure.

Answer: Capsular contracture and breast implant asymmetry Capsular contracture may distort breast implants with asymmetry. Massaging may help to prevent and minimize capsular contracture. There are vitamins and prescription medications that help with capsular contracture in some patient. Also there are external devices with LED and ultrasound that some patients get relief. Often patients benefit from breast implant revisional surgery.

Answer: Breast asymmetry Dear missy1793, I understand your concern. Based on your photos and description, there is a chance that you have capsular contracture. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.
