Answer: Bad tummy tuck Dear Tasteful428431, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Photos Thanks for your question! Without photos, it's really hard to give an opinion. I would also suggest a second opinion. It doesn't sound like you have a result you are happy with, and maybe a doc who specializes in revision surgery can help. Good luck!

Answer: Surgery You did not submit photos, so I cannot be specific. You need to be examined to see what might be an issue and what might be done. You might have a hypertrophic scar near the navel which can be treated with Kenalog. Again, photos are needed here for Real Self forum.

Answer: Did I Have a Bad Tummy Tuck? Concerns About Post-Op Results Hello, and thank you for your question regarding your tummy tuck results and ongoing concerns 9 months post-operation. Let me address your concerns based on your description. From what you’ve shared, it sounds like there may be residual issues affecting your outcome. The hard lump near your belly button could be scar tissue, a suture granuloma, or even a small seroma that has hardened. Persistent discomfort in this area warrants further evaluation, potentially with imaging like an ultrasound or CT scan, to determine the underlying cause. The feeling of your muscles "caving inward" or bending when you sit could indicate incomplete or suboptimal muscle repair (diastasis recti repair). Alternatively, it could be related to how the muscle repair was performed, as excessive tension during repair can sometimes lead to discomfort or unusual sensations. Regarding the folds of skin and fat when sitting, it’s worth considering whether there was enough skin removed during your tummy tuck or if additional skin laxity has developed post-surgery due to factors like weight fluctuations. Liposuction may not have been aggressive enough to contour the areas fully, or the remaining skin may not have contracted as expected. If you feel like your concerns are being dismissed, it may be worth seeking an independent consultation with another board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in revision tummy tuck procedures. Sometimes a fresh perspective can help identify issues that were previously overlooked. You should not have to feel discomfort or dissatisfaction at this stage of your recovery. It’s essential to find a surgeon who will take the time to listen and explore your concerns in-depth. You deserve to feel heard and to have confidence in your results. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen
