It is common to get swelling after fillers into the lips. It is not normal to have irregularities or severe swelling. If you are unhappy you should speak to your physician and have the area injected with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that reverses the hyaluronic acid filler. For the next injections, consider Restylane Silk with cannula injection, this technique will limit the pain, swelling or bruising after the filler placement. I would have to agree with you, the top lip is bigger and projecting more giving you the duck lips appearance. You do still have some swelling and mild bruising though from your injections. This may take up to 2 weeks to fully resolve. I would wait a bit. If after 2 weeks things still look the same then your injector can either add more to the bottom lip or dissolve it with hyaluronidase. If you don't feel comfortable with your injector then find someone who has experience treating the lips. Hope this helps.

Lip filler often causes significant swelling that can last a week or two. The lip actually looks nice to me in the few views you posted. They will likely shrink a bit more.  If you are unhappy after about 2 weeks, you can always have the product dissolved.

Dear jlynn, Your upper lip certainly does look a little too full at this stage. Give it 3 weeks and see how it settles. If it's still not in proportion to your lower lip, you can dissolve out some of the Juvederm with tiny injections of hyaluronidase enzyme. I wouldn't recommend injecting more filler into your lower lip to balance things, as your whole mouth will end up looking too big. Hope this helps. Kind regards, Dr. Hema.

In cases where someone doesn't like the outcome of Juvederm in the upper lip, there are typically two options. You can inject a small amount of filler into the lower lip to balance the upper lip and reduce the "duck bill" appearance.  Alternatively, you can inject hyaluronidase into the upper lip and dissolve some of the filler in the upper lip. In any event, it is usually best to wait a week or so after the procedure for any swelling to resolve before considering a touch-up procedure.

Since it has only been 4 days, I suggest giving it a bit more time.  The swelling may lessen slightly.  Your upper lip is fuller than your lower lip and you do have some bruising, but this may change over the next couple of days.  At that time, you can add a bit of filler to you lower lip to even them out or have hyaluronidase injected into your upper lip to reduce the size.    Best.
