I have been dealing with loose skin above my belly button from pregnancy for 11 years.. I barely have any loose skin below my belly button and my belly button sags down a little … I had a doctor tell me to gain weight and do lipo with j plasma to tighten the skin… this did absolutely nothing my before and after pictures are exactly the same .. I was told to find a surgeon with lots of experience with reverse tummy tucks as they are not ideal and over time the scar starts to sag down…
Answer: Tummy tuck Dear Warmhearted946054, based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Tummy tuck with mesh In your photographs, you have stretch marks above and below the umbilicus. If you lift just the upper portion of the abdomen that would not resolve the lower portion so I do not recommend a reverse tummy tuck. If you are not planning future pregnancies, I recommend abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement. The mesh creates a more hourglass figure by compressing the abdominal wall resulting in early satiety and helps maintain a reduced weight. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Considering options From your photos it appears you are a good candidate for a standard tummy tuck. This will address the loose skin and abdominal wall laxity. This would be recommended over a reverse tummy tuck. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you for a consultation to learn more.

Answer: Reverse tummy tuck after lipo with J-plasma to tighten the skin? Based on your limited photos, you appear to be anatomically a candidate for a full tummy tuck and liposuction of selective areas. It is difficult to tell whether you are a good candidate without a physical examination and complete medical history. It would depend on your anatomical findings, motivation, and realistic expectations. Lesser procedures including J-Plasma will not produce a good cosmetic result in a patient with your anatomy. While reverse tummy tucks may produce a good cosmetic result in the appropriate patient, you will get a better resulrt with a full tummy tuck becuse of the laxity of tissue below your belly button. If a member of my family underwent a tummy tuck, it would be performed by an experienced plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) . If you are serious about undergoing these procedures, you should have a thorough consultation with a plastic surgeon having those credentials, who will fully explain what is entailed in the procedures, including both the positives and potential problems. You should be complimented on the fact that you are seeking valid information before jumping into any procedure. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California

Answer: Tummy tuck You should have a standard tummy tuck, not a reverse one. And I would seriously question the judgment of any doctor who recommends you gain weight.
