What would you recommend to improve my neck (I am 54)? I would like to get rid of my double chin and have more definition around my jaw. Where would the incisions go… behind the ear, in front of my ear, under my chin? What is the difference between a neck lift and a mini neck lift? Thank you!
Answer: Face and neck lift Hello, based on the photos you are a very good candidate for face and neck lift. The word "mini" can be a confusing term, and I believe that you need a full face and neck lift in order to get the best possible rejuvenation. The incisions are designed to be imperceptible, right in front of the ear, as well as behind the ear. A small incision under the chin is also made. I wish you the best of luck. Answer: What you need to know about a facelift Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your age and photos, you’re likely a good candidate for a combined facelift and neck lift. You can expect minor incisions in front of and behind the ears, as well as below the chin, to achieve your desired results. Unlike less invasive skin tightening treatments, results from a surgical facelift and neck lift can last up to 10 years with proper care. I strongly recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon to discuss your treatment options.

Answer: No mini lift You are an excellent candidate for a face and neck lift with incisions in front and behind the ears and possibly under the chin. Because of the jowl going over the jawline, a neck lift alone will not do what you want. You should have excellent results with either a SMAS lift with platysmaplasty or a deep plane lift.

With significant neck sagging you would need a neck/face lift with muscle tightening (platysmaplasty). at the same time lasers (fraxel, co2 or halo) or microneedling RF (fractora, morpheus, pixel8 ) can be performed to improve the crepe skin or wrinkles and combined together for best outcomes.
You need a formal consultation, as the neck can be treated with a combination approach: 1. micro needling and MNRF and lasers for texture 2. botox, disport or xeomin to help platysmal bands and chin crepiness 3. intensif , fractora , morpheus, pixel8 MN RF for crepe skin and lifting and tightening 4. fillers like belotero, restylane silk, juvederm volbella , and hyperdilute radiesse to improve lines and folds and collagen production 5. neck/face lifting if sagging is prominent or early starting +/- platysmaplasty (muscle tightening) 6. Answer: Best option for my neck: Neck Lift, Mini Neck Lift, or Liposuction? Sometimes, we make it difficult for our poor patients by coming up with mini-this and mini-that and micro-other and weekend-lift and quick-lift, and what-have-you. Whether we like to be told or not, most of us (within a particular ethnic group), will age similarly, albeit with some changes more or less depending upon weight, weight gain and weight loss, smoking, diet, sun damage, etc. So, in someone with your age and ethnic background, you have what we see regularly: the loss of jawline definition, the obtuse angle of the neck visible in the side views, loss of facial fat, cheek ptosis, bands under the neck skin, etc. Your best bet is to get a good face and necklift with fat grafts and with the use of appropriate lasers as indicated. You also have the firm look because of your brows being lower (and asymmetric) with the "elevenses" which make us look severe and the surgeon can address that with injections or surgery or both. You will see the descent of the cheeks unveiling your lower eyelids with a groove. A well done facelift and also address that. The money in a lady is always in the neck: a beautifully performed facelift and necklift should make the neck look elegant. Your chin will need some minor modification to give it balance, as will your lips. Don't fall for the "quick" procedures which promise all and deliver less than all. Good luck: get opinions from more than one surgeon. And go by recommendations.
