Do lip fillers always work?

Question

Hello, I want to get lip filler. I was just curious if it always works, I want to try hyaluron. Since I read that botox sometimes doesn't work (nonresponder or so) I wanted to know if hyaluron in lips sometimes doesn't work. Thanks in advance

Hello, thank you for your question! Lip filler is a hyaluronic acid substance that will plump up areas of volume loss. It will always work, however, every patient is different and one person may need more filler than another in order to see improvement. I recommend an in person assessment with your local expert injector. They'll determine how much product you'll need to achieve your desired result.

Dear jenider12,
I perform a lot of lip injections with fillers such as juvederm and it works great. Many times I need to put more in one side than the other to attempt to even out the vermillion border (The red line of the lip). This helps provide more symmetry at times.For patients looking for a more long lasting result, I recommend fat grafting. That is, using your own bodies fat to make your lips naturally look more shapely. The bonus is that the results last many many years.
In general, I avoid using permanent prosthesis because I find that the lips are such dynamic and sensitive structures, the end result is not natural.

Lip fillers always work if injected properly by a highly trained and experienced physician injector (e.g. dermatologist) who chooses the right product, in the right amount, and places it in the correct tissue plane.

HA filler is a product that is used to add volume to the area injected.  It can give beautiful, natural results when used to enhance the lips.  The key is to select an experienced injector who will inject the correct amount to the right areas.  Talk about what you want and don't want from treatment.  Swelling is common after the treatment and resolves usually within 5-7 days, but may take up to 14 days for some patients.

I’ve never seen him properly used fillers not work.

Botox is not used for lip argumentation. It is a paralytic drug primarily used to minimize wrinkles.

Not responding To botox is usually a provider error.
