I had my implant placed 2 weeks ago and I feel the incision is not closing, i can even see the implant from inside my mouth. Im just wondering if that opening is going to close. Appreciate your help.

Answer: Chin Implant Incision not healing Since a chin implant is a "foreign body," it is unlikely that the open areas will close on their own. The best course of action would be to return to your surgeon. It may be possible to wash out the area and then reclose the open wound. This may or may not require a trip back to the operating room to do so, but it's best for you to talk to someone in person who can assess it in person.Good luck to you.Michael M. Kim, MD

Answer: Chin implant exposure It is difficult to see from your photo, but if the implant is really exposed through the incision, it will not heal by itself...you need to see your plastic surgeon about this!
