Leonard T. Yu, MD

Awesome work!!! Been to him 3 times. 1 time he had to repair damage done by another Dr. who is no longer in Maui. I've never been an easy case. I will always return to Dr. Yu for anymore surgeries and no one else. Thank you!

I first went to see Dr. Yu for botox after I moved here from Manhattan and he did the best botox treatment that I've ever had! It gave me great confidence to have him do my eyelid surgery and I am THRILLED with the results. I look like me - only 15 years younger - exactly what I asked for. It's only been two weeks and there is hardly any scar at all. Im sure in another few weeks, I won't even be able see one. We are lucky to have someone as talented as Dr. Yu on Maui. His staff is great and everyone made me feel comfortable and well cared for. And one of the BEST things - he has his own immaculate surgery center. I arrived in my pajamas and didn't have to see any other patients or doctors - very private. Dr. Yu took the time to explain the procedure and recovery time and his staff explained all the pre and post surgery requirements. It all adds up to a great result and couldn't be happier. If I have to age, I might as well do it "gracefully" with Dr. Yu.

From start to finish I was very happy with Dr. Yu and his staff. I didn't think I would find the best doctor in Maui for my breast augmentation, Maui isn't known for stellar medical care. Real Self helped me a lot with my research and the reviews were super helpful too. I decided I would meet the plastic surgeons here just to see how it was before I started really looking on Oahu and the Mainland. Dr Yu was the 2nd doctor I had a consultation with in Maui and it was great. He answered all my questions and I felt very comfortable with him. Jaime was also very nice and helpful. The before and after pictures on his website really sealed the deal for me, that was the look I was going for. Not too big, natural looking. I had a breast lift and augmentation, after nursing 3 kids for a total of 6 years my boobies were so sad and saggy and deflated. They walked me through the whole process, very professional, including excellent after-care. Now, a year later, my lift scars continue to heal and fade and my boobs are awesome! I'm so glad I didn't wait longer to do this. I would definitely recommend Dr Yu to anyone looking for breast lift and/or augmentation. Before my 1st child I was a 32a (110lbs 5' 6") when my milk came in shortly after giving birth I became a 32dd (160lbs) I breast feed for 22 months had another child whom I breast feed for another 22 months and was left with my left breast as a c up and my right as a small b cup. I am currently a 32ddd (150lbs) with very large hips . My family and I spend almost every Saturday and Sunday at the beach and I was always embarrassed of how lopsided I was. Dr. Yu and his staff were exceptional at guiding me through my decision to get an augmentation, I decided to go over the muscle and chose Natrelle brand implants. He and his staff helped me to weigh the pros and cons of the different styles of implants and different placements of them to best fit my body and life style. Surgery was easy with very detailed instructions and recovery was easier than I ever expected. I was back to work in 4 days light duty and back to playing Soccer in 6 weeks. Dr. was available for any questions I had at anytime I called or texted. My breast are soft, round, and my scarring is unnoticeable. my best friend even commented on how the look completely natural and she would never have known they weren't real! I feel beautiful, youthful, and confident, thanks Dr. Yu!!!

I feel the need to pay it forward. First of all, a warm heartfelt thanks to all the brave and beautiful women who have posted before me. I know I would not have had the courage to do this if it were not for all of you sharing your journey. Honestly, seeing all of you and our bodies ability to heal is amazing!
I have Mentor saline implants (most likely textured) that are 18 years old. they are heavy and uncomfortable and seriously, I'm over it. I am concerned of course with what I will look like after they are out, especially since I'm a little older????. I'm opting for just the explant and no lift. My surgeon will do a capsuelectomy as well. The implants are over the muscle. My PS is the same one who did my original surgery and he is wonderful. Thesurgery will be done using the "twilight sedation." I have my pre op appointment this coming Friday and the explant on Feb. 29. I have to admit, I'm nervous but kind of looking forward to it too. But NERVOUS!!

im posting a couple before pictures because it helps with the "afters." I should back up a little and say that I had my pre op 2 weeks ago. Got all my instructions, prescriptions and met with Dr. Yu one more time. He is such a gentle person and has a very calming presence.
Tomorrow I will get to the surgery center at 715 and will be home before my daughter gets home from school. Im a little worried about what I'll look like, but at the same time I'm really wanting these out. I'll be asking for advise ladies! I'll try to post some pictures in the next couple days. Pictures for me have been so very helpful but it is sure waaay out of my comfort zone!????

So I had the implants removed today. i had 275cc over the muscle saline implants that were put in in 1998 by Dr Yu the same Dr. Who removed the today. He did a explant and capsuelectomy. The surgery was done under sedation. I went in at 715, got prepped and at 8 was wheeled into sugary. I remember giving Dr Yu the thumbs up and the next think I know it's 11 am and I'm done! I do have drains and they pretty much suck, but I know they are important and want to give myself every chance to heal properly. I asked the nurse Michelle (who is WONDERFUL btw) if my boobs looks like raisins and she said defiantly not, so that's little encouraging . I will see the tomorrow at my post op. Can't sh I'm not nervous but because of this site and all the brave selfless women who have shared, I know not to get sucked in be tomorrow's reveal. I'll try post some pics tomorrow.

Had my post op this morning, Dr. Said everything went as planned, no surprises. Well, I was really afraid to look down when the bandage came off. As expected, the girls were sad. Smushed and sore. The pictures I took are from tonight, the compression bandage was removed this morning so they look a little better. I think a lot is swelling, but I'm hoping some of it is me????. The drains stay in until Friday, but I want to do whatever it takes to get the best healing and the least problems. Dr. Yu is cautious and I do like that. If any of you are on the fence, it has been totally worth it for me.

Hello my realself friends,
I've been slow on the updating, even though I've been doing not much and in my pj's all day. I did go in on Friday for my second post op and was able to have the drains removed. What a relief but can I just say..OUCH. He did warn me it would hurt (it did) but was over really quick. I have to go back in on Tues to make sure there is no fluid collecting so I'm trying to take it easy and not do much. Once he's sure about the fluid I'll rest a little easier. Tomorrow will be one week since my surgery, I'm off the pain meds and just using ice packs (frozen peas) and heat packs. I've taken the good advice of women on this site and have been using coconut oil and emu oil every day. I'm hoping for some fluffing, and I guess time will tell. Here's the latest pics. All the best to you all and thank you thank you thank you ladies for all your help and encouragement. I would have never been brave enough to do this had it not been all of you before me!

I had a face lift in December, 2015 by Dr. Yu. I received excellent care and was thoroughly informed about the procedure by Dr. Yu and his staff. The day of my surgery I received outstanding care. Since the procedure, I have had excellent follow up. I did my research prior to surgery. I am in health care and was able to ask surgical nurses here on Maui about their impressions of Dr. Yu's skills (if you want to know how good a doctor is - ask nurses!!!) not inly did they praise his skills, many of them have been his patient and shared with me their experience and great outcomes!

I am in my 60's. So many people who have seen me now say the face lift took 20 years off my face!

My follow up care has been outstanding. I follow Dr. Yu's post op instructions completely. And the care is time consuming and the products are expensive. But the results are amazing.

I highly recommend Dr. Yu!!!

I have had the opportunity to have work done by Dr. Leonard Yu. My results first of all were amazing ! I am nothing short of a complete satisfied customer !! We both agree he did an amazing job. His staff is professional and very comforting. Jaime is amazing I just loved her. She stayed with me all the way from Begining to end. She made sure I was always comfortable, she always gave me the step by step instructions to make sure I was confident with my meds before and after surgery. She had a soothing and comforting Ora about her which made the procedure easy. I as a first timer going under was a little nerve racking but it was such a nice experience I never had or felt concerns of fear. I had alittle extra bleeding the next morning which isn't common but it happens and right away doctor Yu took me in for surgery to make it better. I couldn't have had a better experience !!! If I ever get work done again I will definitely go back to Dr. Yu and I recommend him to anyone looking for improvement on their body, he is your man :-). 100% satisfied customer.

52 year old male. About 6 months ago prior to my surgery, I lost 40 lbs in 4 months by diet and exercise. I had to because I was diagnosed as pre-diabetes. Now, I'm diabetes free. Very happy with the way my body looked, except for my neck. With the sudden lost of all that weight, the fat under my chin went, but left the skin sagging. Big time! Gobble, gobble...it looked terrible. I went to see Dr. Yu, who was very easy going and encouraging. He explained that I would be a good candidate get a neck lift and the procedure would be simple yet satisfying with great results. I was excited and agreed to go through with the surgery. The procedure went very well including the recovery. No complications whatsoever. The results? Awesome! Very happy. No more turkey neck. Yes. Thanks Dr Yu. Yu da man! Now all I have to worry about is the scars behind my ears which Dr Yu recommended massage daily to smooth out. If not, steroids to correct it. Overall, I'm very happy. By the way, the office staff of Dr Yu are also very friendly and helpful. Thanks guys.

I came to Dr. Yu with my padded bra and what I believe, is an "UN-proportion" body. I have been insecure with my body type. I was a 34-36 B cup, and even at that i didn't fill the whole cup size. I try to go to the gym and maintain my weight but losing body fat and gaining muscle isn't all that hot when you lose the body fat in your boobs! I had my consultation and Dr. Yu, he and his staff was very informative. I feel much more confident, regarding my body and how my clothes fit. Now I'm a 34 DD or 36 D, depending on style and brand. No more padded bras with space in my cup size! My body looks proportion and I'm very happy!
