How natural do jaw and chin implants feel?

Once you've healed, jaw implants feel just like bone. They should not be mobile and if placed properly should look very natural. They are placed at the lower border of the jaw and should not interfere with any dental issues or procedures that you need to undergo in the future. If you need alot of dental work now, it might make the most sense to have that taken care of and pursue a jaw implant once you've healed.

Chin implants, unlike breast implants, are firm or solid devices and therefore feel no different then the bony part of the chin when inserted correctly. Sometimes displacement can make portions of the implant visible which appears unnatural but they are still firm like bone.

After the healing process, they feel like natural bone. It would be difficult for someone to feel you chin and be able to tell you had a chin implant. Jaw implants and chin implants feel very natural if they've been placed in the proper anatomical position. The implants will will be palpable, if they're placed incorrectly in the subcutaneous space. The implants are placed directly over the bone underneath the periosteum. Once there healed in place they feel just like the patient's own bone.

Chin and jaw angle implants, with proper style and size selection and with screw fixation, will feel as natural as bone and will never move from where they are placed. Potential teeth issues, such as cavities or root canals, have no impact on the implants are they are anatomically separate. Chin implants may be associated with some slight settling into the bone, if they are big enough, but this never occurs with jaw angle implants. This is a benign process if it occurs and should not be perceived as 'wearing down the bone'.
