Thank you for your question! With any Bodytite and Lipo procedure it is ideal to do this treatment in the fall/winter or early spring. This is because you have to wear compression after your procedure and cannot be in the sun for some weeks after. If you do choose to have it done in the summer please make sure to follow your surgeons post treatment instructions
BodyTite is a minimally invasive treatment for addressing unwanted excess fat + skin laxity. This is paired with liposuction to immediately remove fat from the treatment area. We then follow up with a Morpheus8 treatment immediately after the BodyTite treatment is performed. Morpheus8 is a radiofrequency microneedling treatment to help further address skin laxity to tighten the skins tissue. This can leave you looking red/ "sunburnt" for up to 2 weeks post treatment. Mild/ moderate swelling in the treatment area can be expected as well for roughly 4-6 weeks post procedure. You will wear a compression garment all day everyday for 48 hours post, and then 12 hours a day for 2 weeks (recommended at night). We do have patients that treat during the summer months, however if you are someone that likes to enjoy time outside by the water, I recommend holding off until the cooler months. I recommend coming in person for a complimentary consultation at any of our 10 locations to better assess the area of concern. Thank you!
Hi, most surgeons will require you to wear some form of compression for 4-6 weeks following liposuction procedures. If you are in a region with very hot summers or you don't want to be restricted in what you wear during the summer, then it is probably best to wait a few months and do it in the cooler months. Remember also that you will have bruising and swelling that will last a few weeks and that may also be something to consider if you want to be summer-ready. Hope that helps.
Recovery after any of the heating devices such as body tite or Renuvion is usually 4 to 6 weeks. Swelling usually subsides by then, but it could take longer. Everyone responds differently depending on multiple factors. Overall skin quality is affected by sun damage, massive weight loss, genetics, etc. The result is usually based on the individual.
Although full recovery with minimal swelling may take a few weeks, most patients can return to work within the 5–10 day recovery period for BodyTite on the knees. Depending on the severity of the treatment and the individual's healing process, strenuous exercise should be avoided for at least 2-3 weeks during this time. Compression garments are essential during this time to promote recovery and reduce swelling.
BodyTite is done in conjunction with liposuction to obtain better skin tightening after the fat is removed. The recovery for BodyTite of the knees is quite simple: There is almost no discomfort at all, just some tenderness when you touch the area. You can engage in all normal and athletic activities within several days. There will be some visible bruising that should disappear with a week or two. Lastly, there will be some swelling but not too much in this area. You will need to wear some type of compressive garment full time for a few weeks and then wean it off over the next several weeks as the swelling resolves. This surgery can easily be done under local anesthetic in an office operating room setting.
Our practice has performed more BodyTite and Renuvion cases than any practice in North America. Performing this on the knee area should virtually have no downtime. we could do this under IV sedation only and you could go out to dinner that night!
Recovery after BodyTite liposuction on the knees typically involves a period of healing and gradual return to normal activities. Here’s what you can generally expect during the recovery process:Immediate Post-Procedure Period:After the BodyTite procedure on the knees, you may experience swelling, bruising, and mild discomfort in the treated area.Your surgeon may place compression garments on your knees to minimize swelling and support the healing process. You might have small incisions where the cannula (small tube) was inserted for the procedure.First Few Days:The initial days following BodyTite liposuction involve rest and avoiding strenuous activities.Pain medication and anti-inflammatory drugs may be prescribed to manage any discomfort. It’s important to keep the treated area elevated and to follow your surgeon’s specific post-operative care instructions.Recovery Timeline:Within about a week, you should be able to return to light activities and work, depending on the physical demands of your job.Swelling and bruising will gradually diminish over the following weeks. Most people can resume normal activities, including exercise and more strenuous activities, within 2-4 weeks post-procedure, but this can vary based on individual healing and the extent of liposuction performed.Long-Term Results:BodyTite generally promotes skin tightening along with fat reduction, which can improve the contour of the knees.Full results, including optimal skin tightening, may take several months to fully manifest as the body continues to heal and collagen production increases.Follow-Up Appointments:You will likely have follow-up appointments with your surgeon to monitor your healing progress and ensure that everything is healing properly.Your surgeon may provide additional recommendations for scar care and optimizing your results. As with any surgical procedure, individual recovery experiences can vary. It’s essential to follow your surgeon’s post-operative instructions closely to support healing and achieve the best possible outcome from your BodyTite liposuction on the knees.
Hello and thank you for your question! Typically, patients respond well to Bodytite (skin tightening technology) and Lipo (fat removal with suction). Pain and discomfort is usually minimal and patients can take Tylenol or Advil. That being said, everyone is different. Generally, a patient can expect some pain/discomfort, swelling and bruising in the treatment area. The patient should also expect to wear a compression garment over the treatment area which helps alleviate all or some of these symptoms. Esthetically, it seems many patients prefer to do the treatment during the colder months so they can cover up and by the time beach season rolls around, everything is healed and settled. I hope this helps! Good luck on your journey!
This is a common procedure that is fairly straightforward. Everybody is different, but usually about 1-2 weeks of recovery is typical. It is important to wear compression after surgery and keep legs elevated to help the swelling go down. You may have bruising, but it should go away after a couple of weeks. Hope this helps!
