Am I a candidate for rhinoplasty to straighten nose, define tip & thin bridge? (Photos)

Thank you for your question and photos. You appear to be a candidate for rhinoplasty to make the cosmetic changes you’ve described. The bridge can be narrowed and the tip redefined for a less bulbous appearance. Straightening the nose can also be achieved with grafts, struts, or a septorhinoplasty procedure to correct a deviated septum.

Keep in mind that rhinoplasty is one of the most complex of all plastic surgery procedures, requiring experience, skill, and even artistry to achieve an optimal outcome. Based on your photos, you appear to have a somewhat wide nasal appearance with a dorsal hump and a wide droopy tip. I see the bump on the bridge. And that the tip is more prominent than it needs to be. Can't really tell from these photos, but often, when we're lowering a bump on the bridge and narrowing a tip, it's important to elevate the tip a bit as well. We'd tell that from profile views and a better variety of 3/4 views.
How *much* to elevate the tip, or lower a bump, or make other changes? We figure that out with morphs, well before surgery. I'd love for you to see some excellent professionally-designed morphs of what could possibly be done with your nose. Morphs could also help you identify better just what's bothering you, and help you set a goal for the rhinoplasty that's accurate for your tastes. Profile and three-quarter views would be particularly important in morphing your nose. (Side note: in my opinion, morphs should really be done by the surgeon, or he should direct an assistant as she makes the morphs. Morphs should be made with a constant eye to what actually *can* be done in surgery, for that particular nose, and the surgeon has that information and judgment best.)

Finally, remember that rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. The changes that your nose needs require advanced techniques, and skill that most plastic surgeons don't possess with expertise.
