I got a septorhinoplasty done in May 2024, the table photos looked great, especially the nostrils. I then had stents put in as usual as well as a cast and nostril retainer. Was in excruciating pain the first week despite pain meds which was not the case with any other patients I had talked to which I thought was a bit weird. At one week, I went in to get cast off and stents out, and second photo was how my nose looked. The tops of my nostrils were completely split open and looked awful. I was alone during all this and due to the pain, had not been eating/drinking much and so I was honestly busy trying not to pass out during this cast removal & was scared to even ask about the nostrils. It is now over 6 months post-op and they have closed a bit but when smiling that slit/pig shape shows as well as scarring from the opening. I cannot find anyone online ANYWHERE that has had this issue and I just have no idea what could have caused this. I have a possible ehlers danlos condition and have considered that being a cause?? Would also like to know what I could do in the future to get nostrils back to a more rounded shape.

The tip can be revised without effecting the remaining nose. A lot of times just minor shaving of the cartilage bump will restore the soft appearance.

Your asymmetry is from extra cartilage on left side giving it a bulge like appearance. This can be reduced through minor surgery and will match much better.

It is very difficult to correct any issues arising from an alarplasty. You had it done with your rhinoplasty. If you were to attempt any change you might need a revision alarplasty and/or grafts for mild alar retraction.
