Don’t want visible scars! I just wanted to achieve a little more lift and upper fullness. Is there anyway I can have breast augmentation without the cutting of a lift? When I did the pencil test my nipples are inline. I’m a black women who scars very badly! Every childhood scar is still on me, so I desperately don’t want my nipples cut. I’m a realist about the limitations and trade off of what I’m asking for. Are there any other options or are the incisions the only way??
Answer: Breast lift Hello!!!Thank you very much for your question!I don't think you will have a good result without the breast lift. But a breast lift with bad scars is not a nice surgery .When a patients had bad scars from other procedures,I sent them to superficial radiotherapy, next day after surgery. This has been working in most of the patients, but not in everyone.Best Regards,Dr. Alejandro Lev

Answer: Breast Augmentation vs Breast Augmentation with a lift Thank you for your question. Looking at the photos you have provided I would recommend a breast aug with a lift . I don't believe you will receive the appropriate cosmetic look to the breast just by adding the implant. I understand the fear of scarring, unfortunately we can't predict how that will heal. I would suggest speaking with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in person to evaluate you and discuss your options. Best of luck to you.

Answer: Lift recommended Your nipples are pointing downward and are located below your breast fold, therefore a vertical lift would be recommended if you want to be perkier. This would leave you with a visible inverted T shape scar. If you get an inframammary incision, you may also be left with a scar running horizontally within your breast fold. Therefore, both procedures would involve scarring. You may want to seriously consider whether either procedure would be worth the scars since you have a history of irregular scarring.

Answer: You may be a candidate for breast augmentation alone, or periareolar mastopexy Breast augmentation alone can provide a small amount of lifting of the nipple, approximately 1-2 cm maximum. Any additional lifting would require a mastopexy/lift procedure. Depending on your goals a periareolar mastopexy could provide you with a lifting effect as well. In person evaluation would be best to make this decision. It is good that you recognize that scarring will always be present with a lift procedure. In a periareolar mastopexy, the scars are placed around the nipple and therefore can be slightly less perceptible, although still present. If it was determined in an examination that a vertical mastopexy technique( AKA lollipop type incision) Was required to give you the appropriate lifting,nI would recommend aggressive scar management for you. I perform breast augmentation and breast lifting procedures commonly. Please see attached link for more information from our practice

Answer: Bellesoma Method The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
