I has a rhinoplasty 8 years ago. I had an extremely bulky and bolus tip, and a hanging comuella. My results are naturally, yet dramatic. I had a “ball” left in the tip, as well a little bump that has worsened of the past year. I’m not sure if I have thick skin, I’m Greek and Italian. I would like to avoid surgery, but I’m unsure if a steroid injection would have any impact thus far out. What options do I have ?

Answer: Revision rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. It appears that what you are seeing is actually a tip graft that has now been malpositioned and the skin above it has thinned. A steroid injection would make that significantly worse. The best option for you is to have a tip rhinoplasty in which the cartilage graft is removed, repurpose, and replaced in a better position. You should be able to have an excellent result. Best wishes to you.

Answer: Nasal Tip Bossae You appear to have nasal tip bossae which are a sequelae of aggressive resection and reshaping of the lower lateral cartilages of the nose. Steroid injections will not help this situation. The resection can also impact nasal function as well. The only solution would be a revision rhinoplasty with tip grafting to restore form and function. Seek consultation with an experienced revision rhinoplasty surgeon in your area for guidance.
