Mommy Makeover - how soon can I have the procedure after pelvic congestion syndrome surgery?

I have pelvic congestion syndrome and will have surgery in. June for it, how soon after am I allow to get a mommy makeover? Is it recommended with this condition? I also have chronic urticaria and will start xolar injection. How soon after can I get the mommy makeover are there any complications with any of the mentioned conditions.

The safe interval depends on whether your pelvic treatment is vein embolization, laparoscopic surgery, or a larger open operation, and on whether you need anticoagulation. A mommy makeover is a long combined elective procedure with meaningful blood-clot, bleeding, wound, and anesthesia risks. Your pelvic surgeon should first confirm that the treated veins are stable, symptoms have improved, incisions have healed, mobility is normal, and any blood thinners have been completed or safely managed. Your plastic surgeon and anesthesiologist should review those records and perform an individualized clot-risk assessment; staging the cosmetic procedures may be safer than combining everything. Chronic urticaria is not automatically disqualifying, but it should be well controlled before surgery. Xolair is also not an automatic contraindication, yet it carries a recognized risk of severe allergic reaction, so your allergist must advise on timing and perioperative dosing, especially while you are just starting treatment. Avoid planning major elective surgery immediately around the first injections or during active hives without coordinated clearance. Obtain written recommendations from the pelvic surgeon and allergist before choosing a date; there is no single safe waiting period that applies to every treatment.

It is advisable to wait for atleast 6 months after this surgery. Before undergoing further surgery it is important to take due clearance for surgery from previous surgeon and anaesthesiologist.

It is completely understandable that you want to move forward with your Mommy Makeover, but given the complexities of Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS) and chronic urticaria, safety must be the priority. Generally, you should wait at least 3 to 6 months after your PCS surgery before undergoing an elective procedure as significant as a Mommy Makeover; this ensures that your pelvic circulation has stabilized and your risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is minimized, as PCS involves the very veins that can be a concern during long surgeries. Regarding your urticaria and Xolair treatment, the primary concern is ensuring your immune system is stable, as active hives or a reaction to the medication could complicate your wound healing or lead to post-operative infections. You will definitely need a coordinated "green light" from both your vascular specialist and your allergist to ensure your blood flow and inflammatory responses are well-controlled before you head into the operating room.

Before any cosmetic surgery, you will need evaluation by a vascular surgeon or interventional radiologist. Pelvic imaging must also be performed. The PCS must be treated first. If this is well controlled and not severe, a tummy tuck could be done. I would wait a year before undergoing an abdominoplasty.

Your surgeon may request that you get clearance from other specialists to ensure that it is safe for you to proceed with a Mommy Makeover.
