I am a female, 50 yrs old, white, good health, not thin skin. I received fat transfers to my face. i thought it was just minor fat transfer to labial folds but they did major fat transfer to cheek bones and face. One side is fuller than the other on the cheek bones and area below cheek bones. So hoping to get that fixed with fat transfer Other major problem is that my labial folds are very uneven causing strange lines in labial folds when I smile. One side more prominent than the other. I can see the actual fat pad that was injected sitting on top of skin. There are also small pods of fat where the labial fold meets the edge of the nostril causing distortion. Is it possible to get these fat deposits removed post procedure? I am mostly concerned with the area umder my nostrils and inner side of labial fold above my lips

Fat transfer to the face can sometimes heal unevenly because not all transferred fat survives in the same way on both sides. Swelling, natural facial asymmetry, and variations in fat retention can all contribute to areas that appear fuller or irregular.

When localized fat collections or contour irregularities occur, there are potential options for improvement. Small areas of excess fat can sometimes be refined with minor procedures such as careful micro-liposuction, needle aspiration, or limited surgical contouring. In other cases, non-surgical treatments like injectable fillers in surrounding areas may help improve overall balance and symmetry.

It’s also important to consider timing. Fat grafts can take several months to fully settle, and revision is usually safest once tissues have completely healed.

An in-person evaluation with a board-certified plastic surgeon experienced in facial fat grafting revision is the best way to determine which approach would safely and effectively improve the contour concerns you’re describing.
