I was just wondering if there is any value in having Ulthera repeated every so often after the initial treatement and followup. If "yes' how often would that be? For example every year and 1/2? Can one expect a similar outcome as previously experienced?

Answer: When To Repeat Ultherapy Treatments The timing of repeat Ultherapy treatments varies from person to person. Some people may need additional treatments after 6 months, whereas others can go 3 years between treatments. It depends on the quality of your skin, how fast you break down collagen, your goals, etc. That's why it's important to have continued follow up with your physician who can guide you on the appropriate course of action. Maintaining optimum skin health with facials, chemical peels, botox, fillers, at-home skin care, etc. will help you get the most out of your Ultherapy results.

Answer: Ultherapy "touch up" or "maintenance" treatments Thank you for posting this important question as it guides patients who have had Ultherapy and who want to know how to maintain the results they have had with this non invasive procedure.I have done Ultherapy since 2011 in hundreds of patients and have had the procedure myself. I started seeing patients return in 2014, on their own, asking for "maintenance or touch up" Ultherapy procedures.I have done over 50 "maintenance" procedures and the patients were uniformly happy at that 3 plus year follow-up with the initial outcomes and with the 6 month follow up from the "maintenance" procedures at subsequent follow-up. We all know that "we age out of the procedure" as our "physiologic age" in regards to the skin is not frozen in time because we had a procedure like Ultherapy. So, it is natural to "age out" of a procedure and maintenance procedures or touch ups will help keep the youthful and firm skin we are seeking.Given this experience, my current recommendations are as follows:1. You can return at any time after Ultherapy, as long as it is > 6 months after the first procedure, for additional treatments if you think you need it.2. Given that you had a successful Ultherapy procedure, you can wait two years and come back for a "touch up" or "maintenance" procedure at 2 years - it is likely that you will need less than the original # of treatment lines if you come in this early.3. Beyond three years, I am recommending a repeat full face or full face and neck treatment. You can read my original Ultherapy book that I wrote several years ago on the link below. Thank you for following me on RealSelf.
