Hi , my name is Nia and I am 34 years old. Whole my life I have been self conscious about my nose . This year I decided to do rhinoplasty, But I am very scared of anesthesia , or if I ll be able to breath with my mouth after surgery . Even When I think now of it I feel I can’t breath . My question is do people die during anesthesia ? Sorry I know it’s sound silly :)
Answer: Nervous about anesthesia during rhinoplasty. Do people die during anesthesia? hello thank you for your question and provided information as well.. Based on your question, every procedure has its risks, but like all procedures, security protocols are made to avoid any eventuality.but my recommendation is that you consult with your plastic surgeon before the procedure.

Answer: Wow, you just don't have to worry about anesthesia. Worry much more about making a good surgical plan and picking your surgeon. Anesthesia nowadays is just incredibly safe. If you don't like your nose, the fear of anesthesia shouldn't keep you from having a rhinoplasty.Be sure to read the section in the "Learn more" link on how to stay out of trouble while searching for a rhinoplasty surgeon. Rhinoplasty is an exquisitely difficult operation to get right, and you should only have surgery if you are able to make yourself very confident in your surgeon's skills. I usually make computer morphs when I'm answering questions like this, to show the changes that are possible for a nose with a rhinoplasty, but of course you didn't post any photos. At the *very* bottom of the "Learn more" page is a link to instructions on taking and sending photos that are comprehensive and useful for an online consultation like this, in case you'd like a more complete evaluation.

Answer: Anesthesia during rhinoplasty Hello and thanks for the question. The likelihood of serious complications following general anesthesia is extremely low. These risks increase slightly in patients who have other medical conditions. Nose surgery is considered a low risk procedure. I recommend discussing these concerns with your surgeon. If you have underlying medical problems it is sometimes advisable to see your primary care doctor prior to the surgery. Hope that helps and good luck.

Answer: Nervous about anesthesia Airway management is an important component of all our procedures. In our OR, we utilize head positioning, oral airways, or nasal airways, as appropriate, with each case. Some patients do not need anything beyond head positioning. We judge adequacy of the airway based on directly observing the patients' breathing - again, this is my bread and butter, everyday field, and also that of my anesthetist and RNFA. We also utilize the gold standard of monitoring for adequacy of ventilation - continuous waveform capnography (CO2 monitoring). You can minimize, but not eliminate, your chances of an untoward outcome by selecting a meticulous, experienced, rhinoplasty expert. Please see the video below to learn more about the type of sedation that is used in our office.

Answer: Nervous about anesthesia during rhinoplasty In our practice, board-certified physician anesthesiologists perform general anesthesia for rhinoplasty. For safety reasons, patients are completely monitored during the anesthetic. It is extremely rare for a young healthy patient to die under general anesthesia. The procedure is also performed in a licensed and certified outpatient surgery center, not in the back room of the doctor's office
