Will someone who is prone to keloid skin have skin that heals normally from Laser Liposuction?

Personally, I place my incisions to be concealed if possible. A history of keloids may put you at risk for these incisions to keloid as well.An exam and consultation with a plastic surgeon is recommended to discuss your options and expectations.

If you have true keloid scars than there is significant risk of keloid scarring on the incisions that are made for the liposuction cannula.  The incisions made for the cannula are subject to repeated trauma and susceptible patient's keloids are very likely.

the incisions for Smartlipo are very small and are usually not under tension. It also sounds like you developed keloid like scars because of an allergic reaction and possibly from being in high tension areas, like the back. i personally think you will be fine. however, NO one can promise that you will not develop a keloid. see a board certified PS and he/she can make an educated guess but no one will know for sure.david berman md
