I have been planning on getting lipo for a some time now and I'm probably going to be getting it done within a month or so. I recently got my blood tests done and they said my cholesterol level was slightly high. I do plan on changing my diet immediately and making sure I get it back to normal, but will it be a potential risk factor in getting lipo? Just to clarify I am getting lipo to look better and feel better about my body not to lower my cholesterol, I just found out about my results.
Answer: #Liposuction you can get Liposuction with slightly high cholesterol. I would not recommend getting SmartLipo or CoolSculpting. Tumescent Liposuction is safer than traditional as it is done under local anesthesia. but its your call and you can discuss with your surgeon whatever they may suggest for you.

Answer: Can I Have Liposuction With Elevated Cholesterol? If Dr. OKs, Cholesterol Is No Problem for Lipo Liposuction removes the fat from your body during the procedure and therefore is not contraindicated in cases where a patient has high cholesterol – assuming that you are otherwise healthy. Be sure to talk to your family physician about your desire to have liposuction so that you can get a medical clearance. Consulting with a board-certified dermatologist will determine if you are a candidate for this permanent body-contouring procedure, once you've obtained your clearance. Also be sure to let your dermatologist know about your medical history and high cholesterol.

Answer: Liposuction & Cholesterol--For Best Results, Go With VASER HI DEF 4D Liposculpture, ThermiRF, fat grafting for body shaping As long as you are cleared by your Doctor, you can have liposuction with high cholesterol. Keep in mind, laser liposuction is good for problem areas of fat, but lacks body shaping. For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction revision, if you're a candidate. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermRF and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a high definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Cholesterol and Smart Lipo Elevated cholesterol is commonly associated with low thyroid function. Unfortunately, the medical profession, generally speaking, is decades behind in simply making the proper diagnosis, so it really would not surprise me if you said that it's been checked and it was okay. Regardless, elevated cholesterol has nothing to do with whether or not you should undergo laser liposuction. Best of luck with the results. Dr. Knott

Answer: RE: If my cholesterol level is slightly elevated can I still have liposuction (laser lipo) done? A slightly elevated cholesterol level will affect a liposuction procedure. Many of my patients have elevated cholesterol levels, but this does not affect the liposuction and it does not change the outcome of the operation.
