I feel like my breasts have always been kind of wide set, but it seems like my implants are very much towards the sides of my chest. It's hard to get cleavage because of the way they are. I'm worried that because I didn't have a lot of pain and was up and moving right away that I somehow pushed them apart by closing doors or moving too soon? Could they continue to move outward if I do chest exercises from time to time in an exercise class?
Answer: Implants displacement Dear lo123456, moving too soon or closing car doors after BA shouldn't cause lateral displacement of implants. I get this problem all of the time. Typically, its from women who went with high profile implants. This is a problem because while they project more, they are narrow at the base and can have widening effect on cleavage. The second most common problem is incomplete release of the pectoralis muscle medially. Many surgeons don't take the time to make this right. If you're not happy with your results I would suggest you to discuss it with your plastic surgeon. Answer: Breast augmentation and implant malposition? Hello and thank you for the question. It would be hard to give you a useful advice without seeing before and after photographs. What you are describing should not have caused an implant displacement. You should discuss your concerns with your surgeon. Once you have completely healed from the surgery, you can go back to full activity. In my practice, I would let patients start with light activities/lifting at 6 weeks and full gym activities at 3 months. You should clear that with your surgeon. Best,

Answer: Could moving too soon or closing car doors shortly after BA cause my implants to sit further apart on my chest now? It is unlikely that moving around or closing car doors early during your BA recovery would cause your implants to sit wide on your chest wall. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon. He/She can evaluate if the implants are positioned properly or if they are moving too far laterally (to the side).

Answer: Breast Augmentation Recovery Thank you for your question. Activation of pec muscles can sometimes pull implants up and out, however for the most part, when implants aren't settling or there is muscle spasm, the implant just sits high, not so much lateral. It is hard to address the question without seeing pre-op photos, but your surgeon can only dissect medially to a certain point without running the risk of causing symmastia so if your breast were already wide, it is possible that they still look wide. I would recommend visiting your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss implant position while it's early in the healing process. Good luck and best wishes!
