Hi Joana, Thank you for submitting your question! All of the below listed fillers are comprised of Hyaluronic Acid (HA). My main go-to HA fillers are Restylane and Juvederm Voluma, but I listed all available HA fillers below to give you estimated timelines to use as a guideline. Please be aware that every patient metabolizes dermal filler differently and depending on the treated facial area, results may vary. There is no guaranteed time line, and fillers tend to last the longest in areas that are less mobile. In my office, I have noticed that after the third injection, the intervals tend to be longer and the body builds up collagen in those areas on it's own. Also note that HA fillers are reversible with an injectable enzyme (hyaluronidase) allowing for modification giving you the best control and correction with your treatment results. Galderma products Restylane: 6-9 monthsRestylane® was the first hyaluronic acid filler and is a smooth, clear gel that has a consistency of jelly that "flows" when it is injected and goes in very evenly. It’s my go-to dermal filler for the under-eye area (tear trough), nose (non-surgical rhinoplasty), and sometimes for the chin and cheek.Restylane Lyft former Perlane: 9-12 monthsRestylane Lyft is a thicker hyaluronic acid filler and a longer lasting form of Restylane and used for cheek augmentation and correcting of the mid-face. Restylane Silk: Up to 6 monthsRestylane Silk is thin hyaluronic acid filler and has been widely used for lip augmentation.Restylane Refyne: Up to 12 monthsNewest FDA approved product for the treatment of moderate to severe nasolabial folds or “laugh lines”.Restylane Defyne: Up to 12 monthsNewest FDA approved dermal filler for the treatment of moderate to severe, deep facial wrinkles and folds. Both Refyne and Defyne are manufactured with XpresHAn Technology that offers a range of flexibility and support.Allergan productsJuvéderm Voluma: Up to 24 monthsJuvéderm Voluma has a spongy consistency like tofu or marshmallows and is great for lifting. It’s my go-to dermal filler for lifting the upper and mid-cheek area (cheek augmentation) to correct an aged or sunken appearance, and for the chin (non-surgical chin augmentation).Juvéderm Ultra: 6-12 monthsMost reliable filler for the lip area because its consistency is soft enough to provide augmentation smoothly and evenly across your lips. It causes less swelling than other fillers like RestylaneJuvéderm Ultra Plus: 6-12 monthsJuvéderm Ultra Plus is a thin and less viscous filler, and best suited to treat fine lines, e.g. around the corners of the mouth.Juvéderm Volbella: Up to 12 monthsJuvéderm Volbella is a soft smooth gel and FDA approved for use in the lips and around the mouth. I hope that was helpful.Stay beautiful.
Juvederm Voluma tends to last longer than other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. However, it is not appropriate for all areas. Consult with an experienced and expert physician injector to understand your options.
The amount of time that a given filler will last depends on the area it is injected into and how quickly your body metabolizes the filler. Filler in areas such as the tear trough (lower eyelid region) or nasal dorsum tends to last longer, whereas filler in the lips tends to last for a shorter duration. The lips are associated with more frequent movement which likely contributes to the shorter duration. Certain fillers do tend to last longer, such as Juvederm Voluma, which can last for up to 2 years in about 60% of patients, and is great for cheek/midface augmentation. Of course, the amount of filler that is injected is important as well. The more filler you inject, the longer it tends to last. In order to determine which filler is ideal for your needs, a consultation is necessary.
There are a lot of factors that determine what is the "longest lasting filler". The area it is injected into, and also the individuals metabolism. There are pro's and con's of all fillers. I would recommend getting an evaluation to determine what filler is best for you.
Under eye fillers cameras or what's called filler in the tear trough helps reduce those creepy lines under the eyes. Volume can help. But, if the wrinkles are from loose skin then you may need to tighten the skin with surgery, laser or something else. If the wrinkles are closer to...
Hey brownprincess, Thanks for your question! I wish I had a photo reference of your face to better tailor my advice. However, going off of the details you provided, the non-surgical cheekbone augmentation may be exactly what you need. We can address your concerns by building up the cheekbone...
I would agree completely with Dr. Ort in that fillers can be extremely effective in plumping out depressed scars. I usually add BOTOX Cosmetic to the area, as well, to help the filler stay longer. I include an example of a recent patient for your review. Please let me know if we can he...
