Large volume liposuction. Would I be a good candidate?

Thank you for your question.  Liposuction is great to help remove fat and contour the body.  There are different types of liposuction that include laser assisted procedures to help with the skin retraction.  If you have intra abdominal fat which is fat around the intestines then the only way to get rid of that is diet and exercise.  Liposuction can get rid of the fat that we can pinch.  I would recommend you make an appointment with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and see what they recommend since it's hard to determine with out seeing you in person.  I wish you the best of luck during your consultations. 

Liposuction works so well for most patients of all sizes. Even big full tummies can benefit by reducing the size a lot and helping patients bend and move a round a lot more freely. 

Without photos or an exam, it is difficult to give advice.  I recommend that you consult with a board certified plastic surgeon in your geographical location who is an expert in liposuction and BodyTite.  BodyTite does not remove any fat, but it is capable of producing a 45% contraction in tissues.  It can be combined with liposuction to improve contours dramatically.  Results can be seen immediately after one treatment and are more evident over three to six months post-treatment. Wait until six months to fully evaluate the aesthetic results.

Thank you for your question. It is hard to give you advice without seeing photos and more detailed informartion. Best is to see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for an evaluation to get the best plan for you.That said, the ideal liposuction candidate has localized fat deposits and quality overlying skin without significant excess skin or skin damage.  Fat can then be removed to a]strategically sculpt the body and accentuate feminine curves.  The skin then retracts over the new shape to give the final result.You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety.  A key quality indicator is Board Certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

figueroare96. I appreciate your dilemma, however the bottom line is you need to lower your BMI to around 30 before even considering liposuction. At your young age, diet and exercise must be your first option and I am certain that you can attain your goals without surgery!  Try working with a personal trainer and seek advice from your doctor about a healthy and sensible diet plan. Thanks for the question, some people are born with very stubborn areas of fat, my guess with you is trying to figure out if the extra unwanted fat is inside the abdomen (visceral fat) or under the skin. If its visceral a change in diet and use of dietitian or nutritionist is warranted and if its under the skin and you have realistic expectations lips done properly may be for you!

For best results, it is recommended to be at your ideal or stable weight before getting a sculpting liposuction procedure. Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, rather it is for sculpting and defining and removing problem areas that cannot be removed with weight loss and diet / exercise alone. One of the most commonly held misconceptions is the myth of surgical weight loss via liposuction.
Liposuction is a targeted means of addressing subcutaneous fat excess. The best candidates are healthy individuals who have achieved a stable weight with stubborn or resistant target treatment areas.
While treated areas have a reduced potential for weight gain, the results can be compromised by large fluctuations in weight. Additionally, large volume liposuction has a greater likelihood of resulting in loose skin post op.
Based upon your description, you may be a better candidate for an abdominoplasty ("hanging stomach"). This would address fat excess as well as muscle laxity and skin excess. While liposuction is not contraindicated in your particular case, it is unlikely to result in a satisfying outcome.

Large volume (massive) liposuction is a very serious subject. It increases all sorts of complications of liposuction. I think you'd better send your photos, age, chronic medical conditions (if any), weight, height (to calculate BMI). Otherwise none can tell you whether you are eligible for a liposuction.
