I am 10 days post 1750 graft FUE surgery. The donor area is still very tender and painful, is this normal?

Shooting pain through the back of my scalp. The only thing that relieves it is ice and taking lots of ibuprofen . Please help...is this normal? I flew to another state to have FUE and can’t see dr. Called and he said “oh yeah that is normal for up to a month! Can’t sleep!
