I’ve had injections and I wasn’t happy. It seems most of the injection went into my vermilion border. Does that have to be the case. I just want to avoid the duck lips and have plump fuller but natural looking lips nothing crazy big. I live in Charlotte NC

From your photos it seems that your injector chose the wrong area to treat. Lip augmentation with dermal fillers should look soft and natural, not overdone or “duckish.” Take the time to find a top-notch, board-certified dermatologist who is an expert at lip augmentation and make sure you check out their before-and-after photos. The filler you have now can be dissolved with hyaluronidase and new filler such as Volbella correctly placed to give you the fuller, natural-looking lips you want.

masher83.  You can have fuller lips utilizing lip fillers like Juvederm Ultra plus.  To avoid “trout pout”, the filler must be placed in proper locations to achieve a natural look. Be certain to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist in your area. Best of luck.

Lip augmentations with fillers is a great option to improve the fullness, suppleness and symmetry of the lips. Results can be very natural-looking and will feel very natural. I recommend bringing in pictures or referring to before and after practitioners available from your practitioner. I prefer to use a micro cannula to inject the lips to prevent bruising. Look for a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is an expert in fillers to discuss your desired results and concerns.

Thank you for your question. Yes, a natural look can be achieved with hyaluronic acid fillers for lip augmentation. I do not advise having more than 1 syringe injected at a time as to avoid overcorrecting. You can always add more filler later if needed. Also, as HA fillers are not permanent you can have them dissolved with hyaluronidase if unhappy with the results. I recommend having a consultation with an expert injector to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!

Hi masher83, You are correct - there are many techniques to injecting the lip so that the filler is more dispersed and results to a natural-looking pout. That being said, you can have some filler dissolved and re-injected with your expectations in mind.Your injector can actually layer the fillers and also use both needle and micro-cannula.
