Hello, I hope you're happy with your lip filler procedure. While natural exposure to the sun is fine, I do not recommend tanning for at least 2 weeks following any facial or lip filler treatment. Though there are typically very few restrictions related to lip augmentation, tanning following lip injections could agitate swelling and cause further damage. In my practice I have treated many patients who have used tanning beds and I recommend against it. The harsh UV-light can cause melanoma and leads to wrinkles and premature aging. For more information on lip augmentation and healthy skin visit a board-certified dermatologist.
I would wait at least a day, before tanning. But keep in mind, tanning increases your risk of developing skin cancer. It will take 1-2 weeks for final results with fillers. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. I advise waiting at least 24 hours, before tanning. However, please remember that tanning increases your risk of developing skin cancer. You can expect to see your final results from fillers in about 1-2 weeks. I hope this helps!
I would not recommend sunbeds at all due to the high risk of skin cancer in all countries. If you choose to use a sunbed, you are ok to use one right away after a procedure. Melanoma is one of the fastest rising causes of death across the planet. Spray tanning is a better option.
Thank you for your inquiry. I would advised to wait at least 1 - 2 weeks. If your lips swell post injections they will be sensitive. The tanning bed/sun bed may cause further irritation to your lips and may increase chances of more swelling. Be sure to get the OK from your injector.
Hello Jane,Thanks for your question and I hope you are happy with your recent lip filler.I'm concerned that you are using tanning beds. There is clear medical evidence that tanning beds are associated with a significant increased risk of malignant melanoma and other skin cancers, especially when that sunbed use has been initiated in young adults.Sunbeds also emit UV radiation that is associated with premature skin ageing. I would strongly ask you to reconsider your sunbed use and look at alternative measures such as self-tanning lotions. In terms of your lips, you can generally resume normal activities straight away. The full results are evident after about 2 weeks.
