Can cheek implants be used to hide injury to and/or disguise trauma to the face?

Many years I took a heavy blow to my face where my left cheek appears somewhat depressed in relation to the right. Can a cheek implant be used to offset this imbalance? Also, after this accident, my left eye appears to open slightly wider than the left which I believe is linked to the same underlying cheek issue. Can cheek implants also balance this out?

It appears you are have asymmetry in your face after an accident to the cheek area.  It is not uncommon for patients to seek options to improve their facial symmetry.  This can be accomplished with both surgical and non-surgical options depending on your face and your goals.  Generally speaking, I believe facial injectables such as Restylane or Juvederm are best at improving facial symmtry.  That being said, you may have surgical options including cheek implants.  I would consider posting pictures to get a better answer.

Displacement of the cheek bone from trauma creates classic cheek asymmetry and lower eyelid retraction. This can occur even if the cheek bone is repaired. Secondary reconstruction of these midface deformities years later can require the use of cheek bone augmentation with implants and adjunctive lower eyelid procedures. In some cases the supplemental use of injectable fat grafting may also be of benefit.

When patient's receive a cheekbone fracture andthe cheekbone/maxilla bone is flat compared to the fractured side, a cheek implant can be placed to augment the depressed cheekbone to match the opposite side.  The shape of the eyelid will not change.

Pepper123, Cheek implants can be used to improve on asymmetry of the cheek area; I have done that many times over the past 25 years. As far as your eye goes I very much doubt that you would see any improvement. Seek the opinion of experienced facial plastic specialists and look on their web site for lots of good photos. Grey hair is an advantage as well as specialization when it comes to choosing a surgeon no matter what the need. Good luck!

Hi, yes I have used cheek augmentation with cheek implants in that situation on multiple occasions.  Non smiling photos of the face front and side would help in the evaluation.  Hope this helps.
