 Patients who are a candidate for cheek implants usually have a flat maxilla and the flat cheek profile. There are many different styles and shapes of cheek implants that can be inserted. The implants are composed of Silastic, and are inserted through an intraoral approach and placed directly over the bony maxilla. Implants simply augment the existing bony structure, and are not  designed to give a very large definition. Hello Carissa 2828,As you know, there are two options for lifting your cheek.  The first and least invasive option are fillers.  Volume is an excellent option for lifting the cheeks.  The other option is the more permanent option using an implant placed surgically through your mouth into your cheek area.  In order to receive a complete evaluation and determine the best option I would recommend you consult with a facial plastic surgeon or a plastic surgeon.  This way he or she can go over the expectations, costs, and which option is a better one for you.I hope this helps and good luck.
