Can temple fillers work for under eye bags and possibly cheeks?

Injectable fillers have been used in the temple, under eye, and cheek areas. The specific type of filler will vary among plastic surgeons and dermatologists. Thank you so much for this question.There are several fillers which can be used for temple volume depression including Radiesse, Voluma, Lyft and Sculptra. Immediate results are seen with the first three fillers, but Sculptra lasts the longest. Sculptra will take several weeks to allow your body to build up volume. Filler injection into the temples will help address temple volume loss and will also help improve the appearance of the eyebrows. It will not help the cheeks or undereyes. My preferred filler for the temples is Sculptra Aesthetic. The cheeks can be improved using a hyaluronic acid based filler like Restylane Lyft or they can be improved using a collagen stimulating filler like Sculptra. The undereyes can be treated in the appropriate patient using Restylane. My recommend is that you schedule a formal in person consultation with a local aesthetic physician to determine an appropriate treatment plan to address your cosmetic concerns. 

Thanks for your question and we always recommend that you have a consultation with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to learn all of your treatment options. First, there is no “temple filler” although we all use fillers off-label in these areas when someone has a hollow in the temples – care must be given to make sure it is done correctly with whatever filler is being used – whether an HA filler or one of the volumizing non-HA filler like Radiesse or Sculptra. Under the eyes and in the tear troughs we like using an HA filler like Restylane to make sure that we have minimal swelling after the injections.  Again, see the proper injector, learn all the details of the injection, and you can have the look that you are looking for.

Fillers can be used for all of the areas you mentioned - temple, under eyes and cheeks.  However, I use different types of filler for each location.  For example, I like a thicker filler for cheeks because it is injected at a deeper depth, is less flexible and lasts longer.  On the opposite end of the spectrum, I like a thinner filler for the under-eye region because it is less palpable underneath the thin skin and is less rigid.  The goal of facial rejuvenation is to restore the inverted triangle appearance so you may not need all of these treatments.

Hi Gurlpower333,Good new first. Youthful faces are usually triangular. For the temples, I use Sculptra. This way, I avoid the lumpy and heavy look. For the sunken eyes, Restylane Refyne is a good filler to try because it looks natural and results to the least swelling.It would have helped if you had shown a photo. Cheeks might need Voluma or Lift.
