Could someone use your fat to help them shape themselves?

Thank you for your question.  Unfortunately it is not possible at this time to donate your fat for body contouring in another person.  Their body would reject your tissues unless you put them on transplantation medicines to suppress their immune system.  The risks associated with using these medicines are too significant for use in cosmetic surgery.  Best wishes and good luck with helping your friend.

Hello linda adams Johnson,Thanks for your question.Unfortunately, at this time, it is not possible to donate your fat to someone else.  There would be an immune reaction which would cause your friend to lose the fat and possibly develop other problems.  You, however, are able to use your own fat to help achieve any shape you might desire, but your weight makes general anesthesia unsafe.  If you can reduce your weight, you could have both liposuction and a tummy tuck to restore a more feminine set of curves to your body.Good luck,Dr. Shah

Unfortunately, a fat transplant would require someone to go on anti-rejection medications, and the risks of using those meds outweigh reasonable use of someone else's fat.

Hi Linda,It wouldn't be advised for someone to use fat other than their own when performing liposuction & re-injecting for body contouring.  It's a nice offer but this may create some extra time & cost to the patients procedure.  If you were having a procedure done yourself whether it was a tummy tuck & or liposuction the fat is usually safely disposed of after the procedure.  Best
