Am I candidate for a sliding genioplasty?

I was a mouth breather and my chin is really an issue for me because I think it is still recessed. I never had any surgery. Thank you for your precious time.

You have a somewhat recessive chin in the photos so a sliding genioplasty or chin implant will provide greater facial balance to your lower face. The central projection point of your chin would improve as well. Either procedure works.

Mandibular projection needs to be balanced with the shape of the chin, when considering augmentation. If the chin has forward projection, creating an already visible labiomental crease or fold augmentation it needs to be done carefully cannot accentuate this crease. And you’re case the deficiency may be more in the body on the mandible rather than in the mentalis or chin.
I suggest having a few in person consultation with oral surgeons or plastic surgeon, who performed the procedures in your community. Computer morphing programs may be particularly useful to understand what augmentation would do to your profile and appearance.
