How can I improve my profile? (photos)

Question

So, I’ve always disliked my profile, I don’t know if it’s because of my chin or the dent between it and my lips, the jaw or the double chin going on under there. Over a year ago I had 2 upper teeth extracted in order to get braces (orthodontist said I had to). I currently have them on and supposed to be getting them off soon. I’m not sure if that made my profile worse but it didn’t improve it. I’m ok with going the surgery route but don’t know where to start... HELP?

Your chin could be made to have better projection. If you’re not sure you’re ready for surgery, but still want to improve and strengthen your chin and profile, I’d suggest augmenting your chin with Sculptra and/or Voluma. If you like your new look, you can make it permanent with a chin implant. Hope this helps.

There are multiple options available to improve one's profile. From chin implant, genioplasty (cutting chin bone), injectables, fat grafting, and liposuction.  All of these options alone or in combination can help improve the appearance of one's profile. The options available to you, depend upon your exact goals.  Rhinoplasty could also play a part in improving your profile.  For example,  a rhinoplasty, submental liposuction, and genioplasty (to lengthen the lower third of your face and decrease the appearance of that "dent" that concerns you) may be a viable combination that would serve to address your goals. Seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon experienced maxillofacial surgery and facial plastic surgery. Good luck!

The side profile photograph demonstrates an overly projecting nose with the dorsal hump, and a weak recessive chin profile. A  Rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish shaving down the dorsal hump, while placement of a small chin implant can augment the chin forward. Both procedures are complementary to each other. Chin implants are placed under local anesthesia, while a rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia. The braces did not make your profile worse. Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years.  Looking at your photos, the chin is weak, there is a slight amount of excess fat under the chin and the back portion of your jaw line is weak.  The braces had/have no impact on a weak chin (smaller volume of chin bone).   When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy, the lower face looks short, de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a "double chin".  
 Proper placement of a silastic chin implant adds forward projection to the chin thereby creating harmony and balance to the lower face.  Using the same incision, liposuction can be performed to reduce the fat and further shape the neck.  Excess skin, from below the chin, can also be removed through the same incision.  
 I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty (requires extensive tissue dissection, bone cuts and placement of metal screws and plates to secure the cut segments of bone).  I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone.  In my opinion, you are a good candidate for chin implant surgery.   The back portion of the jaw line can be augmented, using a dermal filler (I prefer Restylane Lyft), without masculinizing the jaw and face.
